Summary

This new position is an integral part of the small but growing finance team in a cutting-edge bioscience research, development, and manufacturing company.  This position will be responsible for most of the AP and AR activities in the company along with supporting all of the finance operations.  It will also work closely with other departments supporting their needs and reporting.  This role will grow with the company and the successful candidate should have a genuine enthusiasm for both the mission of the company and utilizing our new ERP system (SAP) and other technologies to work efficiently and provide timely and useful reporting to all functional areas in the company.

Some of the initial responsibilities are below but these will evolve as the company expands:

Responsibilities

  • Review, reconcile, and enter AP invoices from a variety of sources
  • Perform 3-way matching on invoices received as a result of a purchase order
  • Purchase card processing and reconciliation
  • Work within the automated “paperless” workflows in our ERP system
  • Process vendor payment runs
  • Process new vendor paperwork and support the purchasing team as needed addressing vendor questions
  • Balance vendor statements as needed
  • Process AR invoices
  • Be an integral part of the monthly and annual closing process

Desired skills and background

  • Bachelor or Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with three or more years of related experience and/or training.  Exceptional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Comfort working in a paperless ERP system, SAP experience preferred but not required
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team with excellent communication skills
  • A high degree of self-organization along with the ability to track and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of US accounting standards.
